KVSO AM 1240 is one of the oldest radio stations in the state of Oklahoma.  The oldest records we have found date back to 1936.  The radio station has had numerous owners over the years.  An interesting fact about KVSO is that it used to be operated in the same studio building with KVSO-TV (now KXII-TV).  For a brief time (in the 1980’s) the call letters were changed from KVSO-AM to KKAJ-AM when the music programming from KKAJ-FM (Country) was simulcast on the station.
